As part of my sports physical therapy residency, I get to help with teaching a class at West Valley College. Today’s class was all about mobility and flexibility. I presented on voodoo bands that were introduced to me by Kelly Starrett Aka the Becoming a Supple Leopard.
A summary of hypothesis on how voodoo bands work will be coming soon and video tutorials to demonstrate each theory. There is not much research on these bands, but I know they decrease pain and increase movement in 1 minute and still allow me to perform my regular physical therapy practice.
Voodoo bands should not substitute regular physical therapy practice or be used without a proper assessment. Instead they can be used as a tool to augment the efficacy of physical therapy or other rehab/strength/fitness programs.
